People’s Movement to Have a Law Passed by Parliament to Reinvestigate Murder of Mahatma Gandhi
The Case of Murder of John F Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States of America
The murder of President Kennedy on November 22, 1963 continues to evoke strong emotions in United States even in 2020. Immediately after the murder Warren Commission headed by the Chief Justice of United States was constituted which concluded that the killer was Lee Harvey Oswald and he acted alone. Yet, Americans continue to remain sceptical.
Their doubts were reinforced by the Report of United States House Select Committee on Assassination which submitted a report in 1978 suggesting that there could have been second gun man and a conspiracy involved in murder of President Kennedy.
Then in 1991, Hollywood blockbuster, JFK was released. It won two Oscars and was nominated for six more. It was also severely criticised for mixing up facts with fiction. Yet, Americans saw the movie in large number and and were deeply troubled. The closing scenes riveted the audience with analysis of the Zapruder film that had captured the moment of the fatal shot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nmGS8rVuIM
In response, the US Congress passed The JFK Assassination Records Collection Act 1992 which preponed the declassification of all records from 2029 to 2017.

The Murder of Mahatma Gandhi
On January 30, 1948, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi aka Mahatma Gandhi was shot by one Nathuram Godse, using an Italian Berretta pistol. This much is established and beyond doubt. Beyond that every thing is murky, as explained by Dr. Pankaj K Phadnis in interviews with:

Like the New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison, who took the Kennedy Murder to trial, Dr. Pankaj K Phadnis, despite not holding any formal position, singlehandedly took the matter of reinvestigating murder of Mahatma Gandhi to Supreme Court of India.
Celebrations to Mark Exoneration of Veer Savarakar from False Charge of Having Been Held Guilty of Murder of Mahatma Gandhi
The Amicus Curiae contended in the Court that Kapoor Commission held Savarkar guilty of the crime of murder of MahatmaGandhi as his Personal Assistant and Bodyguard deposed before the Commission proving his complicity. Dr. Phadnis pointed out to the Court that this statement of the Amicus Curiae was false. The Personal Assistant and Bodyguard of Veer Savarkar NEVER deposed before the Commission. The Commission had relied on unproven confessional statements extracted under coercion by Police in 1948 to come to some unwarranted legally untenable conclusions.
The Supreme Court of India upheld the arguments of Dr. Pankaj K Phadnis and exonerated Veer Savarkar.
